ABOUT

Joan Clare Mazzeo, All Over the Place is a vibrant, playful solo exhibition that reflects an artist who refuses to stay in one lane. Featuring ceramics, mixed media, fabric, and more, the show brings together a lively collection of sculptures and forms that feel both ancient and fresh, familiar and otherworldly.

With degrees in both Nursing and Fine Arts from the University of Vermont, Joan Clare Mazzeo brings a deeply human sensibility to her work. Drawing on shamanic imagery, mythology, and cultural traditions, she builds layered pieces that combine clay, metal, and textiles into expressive forms. Her influences range widely—from Ptolemaic Egyptian sarcophagus portraits to Native American kachina figures—yet her voice remains distinctly her own.

At the heart of All Over the Place is a joyful exploration of connection: between humans and animals, the natural world and the spiritual, the everyday and the sacred. Through this work, Joan invites viewers to recognize something wild, wise, and divine within themselves.
